Adopt A Park Agreement Parks System Purpose This agreement is to establish a volunteer partnership between the Parks System (PS) and __________________Volunteer Group (VG) in order to enhance and protect public lands, water, flora and fauna held in the public trust and managed by PS while providing multiple-use activities. This agreement allows VG to create and implement an approved self-sustaining maintenance plan and educational programs for the enhancement of the______________________(Park or Area). Responsibilities Park System agrees to: 1. Provide education on the Park System philosophy of management/stewardship practices. 2. Provide staff and logistical support, within budget constraints. 3. Provide guidance. 4. Offer the Organization recognition for their efforts. Volunteer Group agrees to: 1. Work with PS in creating and implementing volunteer programs and projects which address the following areas: pet waste control clean ups (trash) approved small capital improvement projects restoration projects fund raising (for on-going expenses such as plastic bags) educational days and training efforts 2. Confirm the scope, project dates, times with the District Manager. The District Manager shall be notified at least 72 hours before any work party. The District Manager shall retain final authority to, at any time, evaluate site conditions and amend, add new elements, cancel or alter the scope or schedule of all volunteer projects based on drainage, erosion, use volumes or other changes in field conditions which have long term negative impacts to this sites natural, fragile environment. 3. The officers for VG named in this agreement shall be designated as the contacts between VG and PS and will have the final authority to determine the volunteer schedule and to propose any changes to PS regarding this agreement. 4. Have a certificate of insurance on file with PS or have all volunteers involved in program sign a PS service agreement prior to participating in the program. (obtain service agreement from Volunteer Coordinator) 5. Abide by the Volunteer Guidelines that are attached. 6. Prepare a brief written summary of activities (sent to the volunteer coordinator after the 1st day of the following months: March, June, Sept. & Dec.) to PS which will document the measurable outcomes of the total number of volunteers, hours logged, outside resources contributed and maintenance projects completed. 7. Solicit and identify private funding for materials needed to complete the authorized tasks. 8. Notify PS and receive Department approval prior to applying for grants for projects in park. Both VG & PS agree to: Meet in person to review this agreement prior to the expiration date. A revised draft will be created and submitted to VG and PS for approval. This agreement shall be effective from 11/01/96 until 11/01/97, unless terminated in writing by either party. This agreement may be extended at the written mutual consent of both parties.
